This weekend the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit opened two exhibitions, Vertical Urban Factory and Post-Industrial Complex, with each show based around an aspect of innercity life. Post-Industrial Complex challenges the idea of a city’s story as a single narrative, instead asserting that it is really the collective sound of many independent voices. Vertical Urban Factory centers on the evolution of factories and other industrial structures across time and international borders and is heavy in content and information.

Art foundation launches exhibit in Scripps Park

Forward Arts hosted their first “Art Ride” along with an exhibit opening, clothing swap and more at Anna Scripps Park Aug 13.
The ride, which began at 1 p.m., took biking enthusiasts on a 12-mile public art tour throughout Detroit and Hamtramck.
