Women's basketball end season on high note

The Wayne State women’s basketball team (12-14, 7-12 GLIAC), coming off a five-game losing streak, were anxious to close out the 2011-2012 season with a win. They accomplished just that with a gutsy effort on Feb. 23 at Lake Superior State (10-15, 6-12 GLIAC), topping the Lakers 51-50. FEB 24

It was Senior Day at the Matthaei, and in their final regular season home game, Wayne State’s seniors led the men’s basketball team (16-8, 13-5 GLIAC) to an 80-67 victory over the Grand Valley State Lakers (14-11, 10-8 GLIAC). Seniors Andrew Tines, Cole Brundidge, Ike Udonah and Stacey Waters were honored before the game for their years at WSU. FEB 19
