The man who founded Heidelberg — Dr. Tyree Guyton, who received an honorary degree from the College for Creative Studies in 2010 — is considered by some to be one of the pioneers of the city’s art movement.

Created in March, makebrixels.com is the creative collaboration of Cedric Tai, 25, and Dan Marchwinski. The website allows users to create virtual tesselations — elaborate patterns utilizing basic geometric shapes — and Tai chooses a pattern and creates it on a brick wall somewhere in Detroit.
