The Wayne State University Police Department is using cutting-edge technology, including video surveillance, to protect university students, officers and the surrounding area. From the inception of camera usage, the department has sought to maintain the best surveillance system possible.

3 arrested in serial-robbery spree on campus
The suspects, whom WSUPD Chief Anthony Holt called “people of interest with probable cause,” were taken into custody Oct. 28. Holt declined to give further details due to the ongoing investigation.
Anti-arson patrols to flood Detroit streets
Thousands of city residents will patrol the streets over the annual Halloween period, which begins Oct. 30 with Angels’ Night. The coordinated effort by the city, police and fire departments and neighborhood groups is aimed at reducing the number of fires intentionally set to vacant buildings, houses, garages and trash containers.
